JURISDICTION OF COURTS (CROSS-VESTING) ACT 1987 - SECT 14

Enforcement and effect of judgments

  (1)   A judgment of the Federal Court or the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Division   1) that is given, in whole or in part, in the exercise of jurisdiction conferred by a law or laws relating to cross - vesting of jurisdiction is enforceable in a Territory as if the judgment had been given entirely in the exercise of the jurisdiction of that court apart from any such law.

  (2)   A judgment of the Supreme Court of a Territory that is given, in whole or in part, in the exercise of jurisdiction conferred by a law or laws relating to cross - vesting of jurisdiction is enforceable in that Territory as if the judgment had been given entirely in the exercise of the jurisdiction of that court apart from any such law.

  (3)   Where:

  (a)   a provision of a law of the Commonwealth or of a Territory (not being a law relating to the enforcement of judgments) refers to a thing done by the Federal Court, the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Division   1) or the Supreme Court of that Territory; and

  (b)   that thing is done by another court in the exercise of jurisdiction conferred by this Act;

the reference in that provision to the Federal Court, the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Division   1) or the Supreme Court of that Territory, as the case may be, shall be read as a reference to that other court.
