(a) The International War Crimes Tribunals Act 1995 was amended by Schedule 33 only of the Law and Justice Legislation Amendment (Application of Criminal Code) Act 2001, subsection 2(1)(a) of which provides as follows:
(1) Subject to this section, this Act commences at the later of the following times:
(a) immediately after the commencement of item 15 of Schedule 1 to the Criminal Code Amendment (Theft, Fraud, Bribery and Related Offences) Act 2000;
Item 15 commenced on 24 May 2001.
(b) Subsection 2(1) (item 10) of the Statute Law Revision Act 2006 provides as follows:
(1) Each provision of this Act specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

Subsections 45(1) and 46A(9)--Schedule 2 (items 213 and 216) of the Crimes Legislation Amendment Act (No. 2) 2011 (No. 174, 2011) provide as follows:

Application, saving or transitional provisions
Law and Justice Legislation Amendment (Application of Criminal Code) Act 2001 (No. 24, 2001)
(1) Subject to subsection (3), each amendment made by this Act applies to acts and omissions that take place after the amendment commences.
(2) For the purposes of this section, if an act or omission is alleged to have taken place between 2 dates, one before and one on or after the day on which a particular amendment commences, the act or omission is alleged to have taken place before the amendment commences.
Proceeds of Crime (Consequential Amendments and Transitional Provisions) Act 2002 (No. 86, 2002)
Schedule 2
5 Continued application of certain regulations made under the Proceeds of Crime Act 1987
If:
(a) immediately after the commencement of this Schedule, regulations for the purposes of subsection 46A(8) of the International War Crimes Tribunals Act 1995 are not in force; and
(b) immediately before that commencement, regulations for the purposes of subsection 23A(10) of the Proceeds of Crime Act 1987 were in force;
subsection 46A(8) of the International War Crimes Tribunals Act 1995 has effect, until regulations for the purposes of that subsection come into force, as if the regulations referred to in paragraph (b) were regulations for the purposes of that subsection.

13 Application
The amendment made by item 12 applies in relation to the escape of a person after the commencement of this item, whether or not the person was in custody from before that commencement or was arrested before that commencement.

Schedule 1
8 Application of amendments made by this Schedule
The amendments made by this Schedule apply in relation to an application for registration of a foreign order considered by a court on or after the day on which this item commences, whether the request for registration was made before, on or after that day.
9 Registration of foreign orders before commencement unaffected
The amendments made by this Schedule do not affect the validity of the registration of a foreign order by a court before the day on which this item commences.

217 Application of amendments--the International War Crimes Tribunals Act 1995
(1) The amendments of the International War Crimes Tribunals Act 1995 made by items 210 to 216 of this Schedule apply as set out in this item.
(2) The amendments apply in relation to requests by a Tribunal to the Attorney-General under that Act made before, at or after the commencement of those items.
(3) The amendments apply under subitem (2) of this item regardless of whether the conduct giving rise to those requests occurred, or is suspected to have occurred, before, at or after the commencement of those items.
