INSPECTOR-GENERAL OF INTELLIGENCE AND SECURITY ACT 1986 - SECT 26
Terms and conditions of appointment(1) The Inspector - General holds office for such period, not exceeding 5 years, as is specified in the instrument of appointment but, subject to subsection (2), is eligible for re - appointment.
(2) A person is not eligible to be appointed to the office of Inspector - General more than twice.
(3) A person holding office as Inspector - General, other than a person who is a Judge, holds office on such terms and conditions (if any) in respect of matters not provided for by this Act as are determined by the Governor - General.
(4) The Inspector - General may be appointed on a full - time or
part - time basis.
