INDEPENDENT CONTRACTORS ACT 2006 - SECT 42
Regulations may make provision for transitional matters(1) The regulations may make provision for matters of a transitional, saving or application nature arising out of, or relating to, the provisions of this Act or of the Workplace Relations Legislation Amendment (Independent Contractors) Act 2006 .
(2) Without limiting subsection ( 1), regulations made for the purpose of that subsection may prescribe modifications of Division 1 of Part 5.
(3) Subsection 12(2) (retrospective application of legislative instruments) of the Legislation Act 2003 does not apply to a regulation made for the purposes of subsection ( 1).
(4) Subsection 12(1A) (retrospective commencement of
legislative instruments) of the Legislation Act 2003 does not apply to a
regulation made for the purposes of subsection ( 1) that creates,
modifies or otherwise affects a provision that makes a person liable to an
offence or civil penalty.
