INSURANCE CONTRACTS ACT 1984 - SECT 10
Contracts of insurance(1) A reference in this Act to a contract of insurance includes a reference to a contract that would ordinarily be regarded as a contract of insurance although some of its provisions are not by way of insurance.
(2) A reference in this Act to a contract of insurance includes a reference to a contract that includes provisions of insurance in so far as those provisions are concerned, although the contract would not ordinarily be regarded as a contract of insurance.
(3) Where a provision included in a contract that would not
ordinarily be regarded as a contract of insurance affects the operation of a
contract of insurance to which this Act applies, that provision shall, for the
purposes of this Act, be regarded as a provision included in the contract of
insurance.
