FEDERAL COURT OF AUSTRALIA ACT 1976 - SECT 37A
Appointment of assessors(1) There are to be assessors to assist the Court in the exercise of its jurisdiction under the Native Title Act 1993 .
(2) The assessors are to be appointed by the Governor - General.
(3) An assessor must be appointed either as a full - time assessor or as a part - time assessor.
(4) As far as is practicable, persons appointed as assessors are
to be selected from Aboriginal peoples or Torres Strait Islanders.
