EVIDENCE AND PROCEDURE (NEW ZEALAND) ACT 1994 - SECT 11

             (1)  Service of the subpoena is effective only if, at the time of service or at some other reasonable time before the person named is required to comply with it, allowances and travelling expenses sufficient to meet the person's reasonable expenses of complying with the subpoena are paid or tendered to the person.

             (2)  The reference in subsection (1) to allowances and travelling expenses includes a reference to vouchers tendered in substitution for the whole or part of those allowances and travelling expenses.
