DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC PROSECUTIONS ACT 1983 - SECT 18
Appointment, and terms and conditions of appointment, of Director(1) The Director shall be appointed by the Governor - General.
(2) A person shall not be appointed as the Director unless he or she is a legal practitioner and has been a legal practitioner for not less than 5 years.
(3) The Director shall be appointed for such period, not exceeding 7 years, as is specified in the instrument of his or her appointment, but is eligible for re - appointment.
(5) The Director holds office on such terms and conditions (if
any) in respect of matters not provided for by this Act as are determined by
the Governor - General.
