CANBERRA WATER SUPPLY (GOOGONG DAM) ACT 1974 - SECT 12
Use of water from Googong Dam Area(1) Water stored in the Googong Dam Area by means of the works constructed under this Act shall be supplied primarily and principally for use in the Territory.
(2) Subject to subsection ( 1), Australia may enter into an agreement in writing with the State of New South Wales for or in relation to the supply, or the conveyance and supply, of water from the Googong Dam Area for use in a place other than the Territory.
(3) The Minister may, in writing, authorise the Executive to
exercise the rights of Australia under any such agreement, whether entered
into before or after the commencement of this subsection.
