CHEQUES ACT 1986 - SECT 69
Dishonour definedA cheque is dishonoured if the cheque is duly presented for payment and payment is refused by the drawee institution, being a refusal that is communicated by the drawee institution to the holder or the person who presented the cheque on the holder's behalf.
Note: A cheque may be taken to be dishonoured in certain circumstances
(see section 70A).
