AUSTRALIAN RESEARCH COUNCIL ACT 2001 - SECT 43

             (1)  After receiving a strategic plan (or a revised strategic plan) from the CEO, the Minister must either:

                     (a)  approve the plan; or

                     (b)  give the plan back to the CEO with a written request for the CEO to give the Minister a strategic plan (prepared in accordance with section 42) for the same period, revised to take account of specified concerns of the Minister.

             (2)  If the Minister requests the CEO to give him or her a revised strategic plan, the CEO must do so as soon as reasonably practicable.

             (3)  The Minister must cause a copy of a strategic plan that he or she has approved to be laid before each House of the Parliament within 15 sitting days of that House after that approval.

             (4)  A strategic plan is of no effect unless it has been approved by the Minister.
