    To avoid doubt, a reference in this Act to a class or kind of matter or thing does not, by implication, affect the application of:

  (a)   subsection   13(3) of the Legislation Act 2003 ; or

  (b)   subsection   33(3AB) of the Acts Interpretation Act 1901 .
