Commonwealth Consolidated Acts(1) If the Secretary, on examination of an application, considers that he or she needs further information before being able to make a decision under subsection 26(1), the Secretary may, by notice in writing given to the applicant, require the applicant to provide the information to the Secretary within a period specified in the notice.
(2) If the applicant fails or refuses, within the period specified, either to provide the further information or a reasonable explanation as to why it cannot be so provided, the applicant is taken, at the end of that period, to have withdrawn the application.
