Higher Education Support Amendment (Removal of the Higher Education Workplace Relations Requirements and National Governance Protocols Requirements and Other Matters) Bill 2008 No. , 2008 1 [Page Break] 2 Each Act that is specified in a Schedule to this Act is amended or 3 repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule 4 concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this Act has effect 5 according to its terms. [Page Break] 2 Schedule 1--Amendments 3 4 Higher Education Support Act 2003 5 1 Paragraph 19-25(1)(a) 6 After "body", insert "for the provider". 7 2 Paragraph 19-25(2)(a) 8 After "auditing body", insert "for the provider". 9 3 Subsection 19-27(1) 10 After "body", insert "for the provider". 11 4 At the end of Subdivision 19-C 12 Add: 13 19-29 Quality auditing bodies 14 The Higher Education Provider Guidelines may: 15 (a) list a body as a*quality auditing body for one or more kinds 16 of higher education provider; and 17 (b) set out requirements that must be met by quality auditing 18 bodies in conducting audits of higher education providers. 19 5 At the end of section 22-10 20 Add: 21 Bodies that no longer meet certain approval criteria 22 (5) The Minister may revoke a body's approval as a higher education 23 provider if: 24 (a) the body no longer meets a requirement set out in: 25 (i) paragraph 16-25(a); or 26 (ii) paragraph 16-25(da); and 27 (b) the Minister complies with the requirements of section 22-20. 28 6 Section 33-17 29 Repeal the section. [Page Break] 2 The repeal of section 33-17 by item 6 of this Schedule has no effect in 3 relation to a higher education provider's basic grant amount for the 4 grant year 2008. 5 8 Subsection 41-10(1) (cell at table item 9A, column headed 6 "Who is eligible") 7 Repeal the cell, substitute: 8 *Table A providers, *Table B 9 providers that are 10 universities, and bodies 11 corporate that are specified in 12 the Other Grants Guidelines 13 for the purposes of this item 14 9 Clause 1 of Schedule 1 (definition of quality auditing body) 15 Repeal the definition, substitute: 16 quality auditing body, for a higher education provider, means a 17 body listed in the Higher Education Provider Guidelines as a 18 quality auditing body for providers of that kind.
