The Parliament of Australia enacts:
4
1 Short title
5
This Act may be cited as the Broadcasting Legislation Amendment
6
(Anti-Siphoning) Act 2010.

2 Commencement
8
This Act commences on the day on which it receives the Royal
9
Assent.

(1) Each Act, and each instrument, that is specified in a Schedule to
2
this Act is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in
3
the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this
4
Act has effect according to its terms.

(2) The amendment of an instrument under subsection (1) does not
6
prevent the instrument, as so amended, from being amended by the
7
Minister in accordance with section 115 of the Broadcasting
8
Services Act 1992.

1 At the end of section 115

Add:

(4) A notice under this section which has the effect of:
7
(a) amending a notice under subsection (1) to remove an event
8
from that notice; or
9
(b) revoking a notice, or any part of a notice, under
10
subsection (1); or
11
(c) placing a time limit on the operation of a notice, or any part
12
of a notice, under subsection (1);
13
does not come into effect until the expiration of 6 sitting days of
14
each House of the Parliament after the notice is tabled in that
15
House.
