ANIMAL DISEASES (BEES) REGULATION 2000 (REPEALED) - REG 3 Definitions for regulation In this regulation: Note A definition applies except so far as the contrary intention appears (see Legislation Act, s 155). "broodbox" means the bottom box of an active beehive. "frame hive" means a beehive that-- (a) contains only moveable frames that can be readily and separately removed for examination; or (b) contains-- (i) fixed frames in all honey super-boxes of the beehive; and (ii) only moveable frames, that can be readily and separately removed for examination, in the broodbox of the beehive; and (iii) a device fitted immediately above the broodbox of the beehive that excludes the queen bee from all honey super-boxes of the beehive. "honey super-box" means an upper box of a beehive in which honey is stored. ANIMAL DISEASES (BEES) REGULATION 2000 (REPEALED) - REG 4 Honey bees to be kept in frame hives A person must not keep honey bees other than in a frame hive. Maximum penalty: 10 penalty units.
