MOTOR TRAFFIC ACT 1936 (REPEALED) - SECT 212

Exemption of certain vehicles and drivers

    Nothing in this Act relating to the registration of motor vehicles or the affixing of number-plates thereon shall apply in relation to any mechanical constructional plant belonging to the Territory or Commonwealth; and a person shall not be guilty of any offence or liable to pay any sum under this Act by reason of such vehicle not being registered, and the driver or any other person shall not be guilty of any offence under this Act by reason only of the driver of any such vehicle, while acting in the performance of his or her duty, not having or producing a licence under this Act to drive a motor vehicle.
