MOTOR TRAFFIC ACT 1936 (REPEALED) - SECT 147E

Testing of speedometers

    In a prosecution for an offence against this Act in which evidence is given of the calculation of speed by means of a motor vehicle speedometer, a certificate purporting to be signed by a person who is a duly qualified instrument maker and approved by the Minister for that purpose and certifying that, on a date specified in the certificate, he or she tested the motor vehicle speedometer bearing the identification number stated in the certificate and found it to be accurate is evidence of the matters stated in the certificate.
