Australian Capital Territory Repealed Acts

BOOKMAKERS ACT 1985 (REPEALED) - SECT 9

(1)     The Committee shall consist of 7 part-time members appointed by the Minister, of whom—

        (a)     3 shall be nominees of the Minister;

        (b)     1 shall be nominated by the Australian Capital Territory Racing Club, being a body incorporated under the Associations Incorporation Act 1953 ;

        (c)     1 shall be nominated by the Canberra Trotting Club, being a body incorporated under the Associations Incorporation Act 1953 ;

        (d)     1 shall be nominated by the Canberra Greyhound Racing Club, being a body incorporated under the Associations Incorporation Act 1953 ; and

        (e)     1 shall be nominated by the A.C.T. Bookmakers Association, being a body incorporated under the Associations Incorporation Act 1953.

(2)     Subject to this Act, a member—

        (a)     holds office for such a period, not exceeding 3 years, as is specified in the instrument of his or her appointment; and

        (b)     is eligible for re-appointment.
