POISONS AND DRUGS REGULATIONS (NO. 15 OF 1993) - TABLE OF PROVISIONS 1. Citation 2. These Regulations commence on the day on which section 4 of the Poisons and Drugs (Amendment) Act 1993 commences. 3. In these Regulations, unless the contrary intention appears--"Act" means the Poisons and Drugs Act 1978. 4. For the purposes of paragraph (c) of the definition of "recognised institution" in subsection 3 (1) of the Act, the following institutions are prescribed: 5. These Regulations may be cited as the Poisons and Drugs Regulations. Commencement POISONS AND DRUGS REGULATIONS (NO. 15 OF 1993) - REG 2 2. In these Regulations, unless the contrary intention appears--"Act" means the Poisons and Drugs Act 1978. Prescribed institutions POISONS AND DRUGS REGULATIONS (NO. 15 OF 1993) - REG 4 4. For the purposes of paragraph (c) of the definition of "recognised institution" in subsection 3 (1) of the Act, the following institutions are prescribed: (a) The Australian National University; (b) Canberra Institute of Technology; (c) the University College within the Australian Defence Force Academy; (d) Australian Catholic University; (e) University of Canberra. Prescribed class and purpose POISONS AND DRUGS REGULATIONS (NO. 15 OF 1993) - REG 5 5. (1) For the purposes of paragraph 47W (2) (b) of the Act, in relation to a poison specified in column 1 of Schedule 1-- (a) a class of persons specified opposite that poison in column 2 of that Schedule is prescribed; and (b) a purpose set out opposite each such class in column 3 of that Schedule is a prescribed purpose in relation to that class for which a member of that class may possess the poison. (2) For the purposes of paragraph 47W (2) (b) of the Act, persons in day-to-day control of analytical laboratories are prescribed with respect to a poison specified in Schedule 2 for the prescribed purpose of analysis.
