Commencement
     (1)      Regulation 1 and this regulation commence on the day these
regulations are notified in the Gazette.
     (2)      Regulation 3 commences on 6 September 1999.

     These regulations amend the Motor Traffic Regulations
1934.

Insertion
     Before regulation 26A the following regulation is inserted in
Part IVA:
"26AA      Definition for Part IVA 
     In this Part--
"taxi" includes a private hire
car.".
