1. Commencement  
2.   In these Regulations, "Principal Regulations" means the Gaming Machine Regulations.  
3.   Regulation 5 of the Principal Regulations is amended by adding at the end the following subregulation:  
4.   The Principal Regulations are amended as set out in the Schedule.

Commencement

1.  These Regulations commence on 1 January 1991.

2.  In these Regulations, "Principal Regulations" means the Gaming Machine Regulations.
 Conduct of ballots

GAMING MACHINE REGULATIONS (AMENDMENT) (NO. 19 OF 1990)

3.  Regulation 5 of the Principal Regulations is amended by adding at the end the following subregulation:
"(2)  The Commissioner may discharge his or her responsibilities in
relation to the conduct of a ballot referred to in subregulation (1) through an
officer duly authorised for that purpose by the Commissioner.".

Regulation 7--
Omit "Authority", substitute
"Commissioner".
Schedule 1 (Clause 1)--
Omit "Where the Registrar receives from the Authority a request from
the Authority a request for the conduct of a ballot the Registrar",
substitute "For the purposes of conducting a ballot, the
Commissioner".
Schedule 1 (Subclause 2 (3))--
Omit "Where the Registrar has received from the Authority a request
for the conduct of a ballot, the Registrar", substitute "For the
purposes of conducting a ballot, the Commissioner".
Schedule 1 (Paragraph 2 (3) (a))--
Omit.
Schedule 1 (Clause 11)--
Omit "the members of the Authority and".
Schedule 1 (Further amendments)--
The following provisions are amended by omitting "Registrar"
(wherever occurring) and substituting "Commissioner":
Subclause 1 (b); clause 2; subclauses 3 (4), and (5); clauses 4, 6, 7, 8,
9, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14.
Schedule 1 (Subclause 1 (1))--
Omit paragraphs (a) and (b), substitute "a newspaper published and
circulating in the Territory.
Schedule 2 (Subclauses 1 (1) and 3 (1))--
Omit "Registrar", substitute
"Commissioner".
Schedule 2 (Subclauses 1 (1) and (2); 3 (2) (3) and clause
4)--
Omit "Authority", substitute
"Commissioner".
