LIQUOR (AMENDMENT) ACT 1996  (No 8 of 1996)

- TABLE OF PROVISIONS

1.   This Act may be cited as the Liquor (Amendment) Act 1996.  
3.   In this Act, "Principal Act" means the Liquor Act 1975.1  
4.   Section 26 of the Principal Act has effect as if it had been amended by inserting in paragraph (a) "or, if times are prescribed, at those times" after "time".  
5.   Section 27 of the Principal Act has effect as if it had been amended by inserting "or, if times are prescribed, at those times" after "time".  
6.   Section 29 of the Principal Act has effect as if it had been amended by inserting in paragraph (2) (a) "or, if times are prescribed, at those times" after "time".  
7.   Section 29A of the Principal Act has effect as if it had been repealed and the following section substituted:  
8.   Sections 4, 5, 6 and 7 have effect for the period of 12 months commencing on the day on which this Act is notified in the Gazette.

 Short title

LIQUOR (AMENDMENT) ACT 1996
- SECT 1
1.  This Act may be cited as the Liquor (Amendment) Act 1996.
 Commencement
2.  (1)  Sections 1, 2 and 3 commence on the day on which this Act
is notified in the Gazette.
(2)  The remaining provisions commence on a day, or respective days,
fixed by the Minister by notice in the Gazette.
(3)  If a provision referred to in subsection (2) has not commenced
before the end of the period of 6 months commencing on the day on which this Act
is notified in the Gazette, that provision, by force of this subsection,
commences on the first day after the end of that period.

6.  Section 29 of the Principal Act has effect as if it had been amended by inserting in paragraph (2) (a) "or, if times are prescribed, at those times" after "time".
 Substitution

7.  Section 29A of the Principal Act has effect as if it had been repealed and the following section substituted:
 Special Licences
"29A.  A Special Licence authorises the sale of
liquor--
         (a)     at such times as are specified in the licence other than prescribed
times; and
         (b)     on such premises and in such places, and subject to such conditions,
as are specified in the licence.".

8.  Sections 4, 5, 6 and 7 have effect for the period of 12 months commencing on the day on which this Act is notified in the Gazette.
