CRIMES LEGISLATION (STATUS AND CITATION) (No 6 of 1992) - TABLE OF PROVISIONS 1. This Act may be cited as the Crimes Legislation (Status and Citation) Act 1992. 2. In this Act--"applied State Act" means the Crimes Act, 1900 of the State of New South Wales in its application in the Territory as amended and in force immediately before the commencement of this Act. 4. The applied State Act may be cited as the Crimes Act 1900. CRIMES LEGISLATION (STATUS AND CITATION) - LONG TITLE An Act to provide for the Crimes Act, 1900 of the State of New South Wales in its application in the Territory to be treated as an Act passed by the Legislative Assembly and to be cited accordingly, and for related purposes Short title CRIMES LEGISLATION (STATUS AND CITATION) - SECT 1 1. This Act may be cited as the Crimes Legislation (Status and Citation) Act 1992. Interpretation CRIMES LEGISLATION (STATUS AND CITATION) - SECT 2 2. In this Act--"applied State Act" means the Crimes Act, 1900 of the State of New South Wales in its application in the Territory as amended and in force immediately before the commencement of this Act. Status 3. (1) The applied State Act shall be taken to be, for all purposes, a law made by the Legislative Assembly as if the provisions of the applied State Act had been re-enacted in an Act passed by the Assembly and taking effect on the commencement of this Act. (2) Without limiting the generality of subsection (1), on and after the commencement of this Act, the applied State Act shall not be taken to be a continued State law within the meaning of the Interpretation Act 1967. Citation CRIMES LEGISLATION (STATUS AND CITATION) - SECT 4 4. The applied State Act may be cited as the Crimes Act 1900. References in other laws 5. (1) A reference in a law of the Territory to the Crimes Act, 1900 of the State of New South Wales in its application in the Territory shall, on and after the commencement of this Act, be read as a reference to the Crimes Act 1900. (2) Section 41 of the Interpretation Act 1967 applies in relation to the applied State Act as if the short title specified in section 4 was the short title of the applied State Act as originally passed.
