CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE ACT 1999 (NO. 63 OF 1999) - SECT 288
Procedure at hearing(1) Except as expressly provided in this Act, a proceeding under this Part must be conducted with as little formality and technicality and as quickly as the requirements of this or any other Act and a proper consideration of the matter permit.
(2) The court may, for good cause, order that someone (including the child or young person who is the subject of the proceeding or someone with parental responsibility for him or her) may not be present in the room where the court is sitting during the whole or such part of the hearing of the proceeding as the court decides.
