CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE ACT 1999 (NO. 63 OF 1999) - SECT 285

Removal of parties

(1)     If, on application by a party or on its own initiative, the court is satisfied that a party to a proceeding—

        (a)     has been improperly or unnecessarily joined; or

        (b)     has ceased to be a proper or necessary party;

the court may order that the party cease to be a party and may make such further orders or directions for the conduct of the proceeding as the court considers appropriate.

(2)     Before making an order under this section, the court must provide each party to the proceeding with an opportunity to be heard on the application or motion.
