AIR POLLUTION (AMENDMENT) ACT (NO. 2)  (No 59 of 1996)

- TABLE OF PROVISIONS

1.   This Act may be cited as the Air  
2.   This Act commences on the day on which it is notified in the Gazette.  
3.   In this Act, "Principal Act" means the Air Pollution Act  
4.   Section 27A of the Principal Act is amended--

- SECT 1
1.  This Act may be cited as the Air
Pollution (Amendment) Act (No. 2) 1996.
 Commencement

AIR POLLUTION (AMENDMENT) ACT (NO. 2)
- SECT 2
2.  This Act commences on the day on which it is notified in the Gazette.
 Principal Act

AIR POLLUTION (AMENDMENT) ACT (NO. 2)
- SECT 3
3.  In this Act, "Principal Act" means the Air Pollution Act
1984.1
 Permits for burning plant matter

AIR POLLUTION (AMENDMENT) ACT (NO. 2)
- SECT 4
4.  Section 27A of the Principal Act is amended--
         (a)     by omitting subparagraphs (2) (a) (i) and (ii) and substituting
the following subparagraphs:
     "(i)     to reduce a fire hazard;
               (ii)     to clear the land; or
               (iii)     to conserve biological diversity or ecological integrity;
and";
         (b)     by adding at the end of paragragh (3) (a)
"and";
     (c)     by omitting from paragraph (3) (b) "and";
and
     (d)     by omitting paragraph (3) (c).
