SALE OF GOODS ACT 1954 - SECT 28

Revesting of property in stolen goods on conviction of offender

    (1)     If goods have been stolen and the offender is prosecuted to conviction, the property in the goods revests in the person who was the owner of the goods, or in the person's personal representative, notwithstanding any intermediate dealing with them.

    (2)     Notwithstanding any other law to the contrary, if goods have been obtained by fraud or other wrongful means not amounting to larceny, the property in the goods does not revest in the person who was the owner of the goods or in the person's personal representative only because of the conviction of the offender.
