SUPREME COURT ACT 1933 - SECT 40

Appointment of master

    (1)     The master shall be appointed by the Executive.

Note     For the making of appointments (including acting appointments), see Legislation Act 2001 , pt 19.3.

    (2)     A person shall not be appointed as the master unless the person has been a legal practitioner for not less than 5 years.

    (3)     A person who is 70 years old or older must not be appointed as the master.
