Australian Capital Territory Consolidated Acts Australian Capital Territory Consolidated Acts(1) A person must not use a dangerously defective registrable vehicle on a road or road related area.
Maximum penalty: 20 penalty units.
(2) Subsection (1) does not apply to the use of a dangerously defective vehicle—
(a) if the vehicle is at, or in the vicinity of, an accident and its condition is the result of damage caused by the accident; or
(b) if the person using the vehicle knows the vehicle's condition and has taken, or is taking, reasonable action to have the vehicle repaired or removed from the road or road related area; or
(c) if the vehicle is being inspected or tested under section 27 (1); or
(d) in any other circumstances
prescribed under the regulations.
