PROHIBITED WEAPONS ACT 1996 - SECT 9

Permits

    (1)     The registrar may issue a permit authorising the possession or use of—

        (a)     a prohibited weapon; or

        (b)     a prohibited article.

    (2)     The regulations may provide for mandatory or discretionary grounds for refusing the issue of a permit.

    (3)     A permit may be issued subject to conditions.

    (4)     The conditions may provide for the expiration of the permit, limit the authority it confers and impose requirements on the person to whom the permit is issued.

    (5)     The registrar may, for any reason the registrar considers sufficient, cancel a permit by causing written notice of its cancellation to be served on the person to whom the permit was issued.

    (6)     A person to whom a permit was issued may surrender the permit for cancellation.
