Australian Capital Territory Consolidated Acts Australian Capital Territory Consolidated Acts(1) A licensed pawnbroker must not carry on business as a pawnbroker at a place other than premises stated in the licence.
Maximum penalty: 50 penalty units.
(2) A licensed pawnbroker must not, without reasonable excuse, fail to produce his or her licence on demand made by a police officer at premises stated in the licence.
Maximum penalty: 5 penalty units.
(3) A licensed pawnbroker must not buy, receive or take in pawn an article from a person if the pawnbroker believes or has reasonable grounds to believe that the person is—
(a) under 14 years old; or
(b) drunk.
Maximum penalty: 30 penalty units.
