Australian Capital Territory Consolidated Acts Australian Capital Territory Consolidated Acts(1) There is to be a Chief Magistrate and other magistrates.
(2) The Chief Magistrate and other magistrates are appointed by the Executive.

(3) If a magistrate is appointed as the Chief Magistrate, the person stops holding the position of magistrate.
