Australian Capital Territory Consolidated Acts(1) If a magistrate or registrar refuses to do any act relating to the duties of his or her office as a magistrate or registrar, the party requiring the act to be done may apply to the Supreme Court for an order calling on the magistrate or registrar and also the party to be affected by the act to show cause why the act should not be done, and if good cause is not shown against it, the Supreme Court may make the order absolute, with or without payment of costs.
(2) A magistrate or registrar on being served with an order absolute must obey the order, and do the act required by it to be done.
