LEGAL PROFESSION ACT 2006 - SECT 49
Barristers—restrictions on engaging in legal practice etc(1) A regulation or legal profession rule may make provision for or in relation to prohibiting the holder of a barrister practising certificate from any or all of the following:
(a) engaging in legal practice—
(i) otherwise than as a sole practitioner; or
(ii) in partnership with anyone; or
(iii) as the employee of anyone;
(b) holding office as a legal practitioner director of an incorporated legal practice.
(2) Conditions may be imposed on a barrister practising certificate granted to a legal practitioner that the practitioner must not—
(a) engage in legal practice—
(i) otherwise than as a sole practitioner; or
(ii) in partnership with anyone; or
(iii) as the employee of anyone; or
(b) hold office as a legal practitioner director of an incorporated legal practice.
