Australian Capital Territory Consolidated Acts Australian Capital Territory Consolidated Acts(1) This section applies if an authorised person or police officer believes on reasonable grounds that litter in a public place has been deposited by a person in contravention of this Act.
(2) The authorised person or police officer may ask the person to remove the litter from the public place.
(3) The person commits an offence if the person fails to comply with the request.
Maximum penalty: 10 penalty units.
(4) An offence against this section is a strict liability offence.
