LEGISLATION ACT 2001 - SECT 80

References to commencement of law

In a law, a reference to the commencement of the law, or another law, (the law concerned ) is a reference to—

        (a)     if the provisions of the law concerned (other than those providing for its name and commencement) commence, or are required to commence, on a single day or at a single time—the commencement of the remaining provisions; or

        (b)     if paragraph (a) does not apply and the reference is in a provision of the law concerned—the commencement of the provision; or

        (c)     in any other case—the commencement of the relevant provision of the law concerned.
