LEGISLATION ACT 2001 - SECT 17

    (1)     A reference to an "Act" includes a reference to a former Commonwealth enactment.

    (2)     Without limiting subsection (1), a reference to an "Act" includes a reference to a former NSW Act or former UK Act mentioned in schedule 1.

    (3)     In this section:

"former Commonwealth enactment "means a Commonwealth Act or ordinance, a New South Wales Act or Imperial Act that is—

        (a)     an enactment within the meaning of the Self-Government Act because of that Act, section 34; or

        (b)     an enactment because of the A.C.T . Self-Government (Consequential Provisions) Act 1988 (Cwlth), section 10 (3) or section 12 (2) or (3).
