ELECTORAL ACT 1992 - SECT 250
Definitions for pt 16In this part:
"application" means an application disputing the validity of an election made in accordance with section 258.
"bribery" means a contravention of section 285.
"contravention", of a section of this Act or the Crimes Act 1914
(Cwlth), includes—
(a) attempting or conspiring to contravene that section; or
(b) aiding, abetting, counselling or procuring the contravention of that section.
"Court of Disputed Elections"—see section 252 (2).
"election" includes—
(a) a recount of votes under section 194; and
(b) the choice of a person to fill a casual vacancy under section 195.
"file" means to file in the registrar's office.
"proceeding" means a proceeding before the Court of Disputed Elections.
"registrar" means the registrar of the Supreme Court.
"Speaker"—see section 251.
"undue influence" means a contravention of section 288 (Violence and intimidation) or the Criminal Code
(Cwlth), section 83.4 (Interference with political rights and duties).
