Australian Capital Territory Consolidated Acts Australian Capital Territory Consolidated Acts(1) An order for periodic maintenance ceases to have effect, to the extent that it relates to the maintenance of a child by virtue of section 19 (1) (a), on the expiration of the day on which the person in whose favour the order was made ceases to have the care and control of the child.
(2) An order for periodic maintenance ceases to have effect on the death of either party to the domestic relationship.
(3) The cessation of an order does not affect the recovery of arrears of maintenance due when the order ceased to have effect.
