Australian Capital Territory Consolidated ActsIn a proceeding under the Children and Young People Act 2008 or another territory law to which a child or young person is a party, the court must endeavour to ensure that the child or young person and any other party present at the hearing of the proceeding—
(a) understands the nature and purpose of the proceeding and of any order that the court proposes to make or has made; and
(b) if any relevant right of appeal exists—knows of the existence of a right of appeal against the relevant finding or order of the court.
