CORRECTIONS MANAGEMENT ACT 2007 - SECT 118
Body searches—assistance from corrections officer(1) This section applies if the doctor conducting a body search of a detainee asks the director-general for assistance that the doctor believes, on reasonable grounds, is necessary and reasonable for the search.
(2) The director-general may direct a corrections officer (the assistant ) to assist in the conduct of the search.
(3) However, the assistant must be of the same sex as the detainee.
Note Section 126 provides for the use of force to assist at a body search.
