CORRECTIONS MANAGEMENT ACT 2007 - SECT 10
Treatment of remandees(1) Functions under this Act in relation to a detainee who is a remandee must also be exercised to recognise and respect that—
(a) the remandee must be presumed innocent of any offence for which the remandee is remanded; and
(b) the detention is not imposed as punishment of the remandee.
(2) Subsection (1) does not apply if the remandee—
(a) has been convicted or found guilty of the offence for which the remandee is detained; or
(b) is under a sentence of imprisonment in relation to another offence.
