Australian Capital Territory Consolidated Acts(1) A licensee may apply in writing to the director-general to surrender the licence.
(2) The application must be accompanied by the licence.
(3) However, if the licence has been lost, stolen or destroyed, the licensee must give the director-general a statement, verified by a statutory declaration signed by the licensee, that the licence has been lost, stolen or destroyed.
Note 1 The Statutory Declarations Act 1959 (Cwlth) applies to the making of statutory declarations under ACT laws.

(4) On receiving the application, the director-general may—
(a) accept the surrender of the licence; or
(b) refuse to accept the surrender of the licence if—
(i) action is being taken under division 4.3 (Amendment, suspension and cancellation of licences) to suspend or cancel a licence; or
(ii) the licensee has failed to comply with part 5 (Application of proceeds of collections).
(5) If the director-general accepts the surrender of the licence, the licence is taken to have ended.
