Australian Capital Territory Consolidated Acts Australian Capital Territory Consolidated Acts(1) The Minister may appoint a person (an investigator ) to hold an inquiry into the affairs of a cooperative if the Minister considers that it is desirable to hold the inquiry for the protection or otherwise in the interests of the public or of the members or creditors of the cooperative.
(2) The Minister may amend the conditions of appointment of an investigator if the investigator agrees to the amendment.
(3) In the course of an inquiry into the affairs of a cooperative, an investigator may inquire into the affairs of a subsidiary of the cooperative that, if the subsidiary were the cooperative, would be affairs of the cooperative.
(4) An inquiry into the affairs of a subsidiary of a cooperative may be conducted as if the subsidiary were the cooperative.
