CRIMES ACT 1900 - SECT 41
Exposing or abandoning childA person who unlawfully abandons or exposes a child under the age of 2 years and by the abandonment or exposure endangers the life or health of the child is guilty of an offence punishable, on conviction, by imprisonment for 5 years.
