Australian Capital Territory Consolidated Acts Australian Capital Territory Consolidated Acts(1) If a police officer contravenes a provision of this Act that is applicable to him or her as a police officer or as an authorised officer, the contravention is not punishable as an offence unless a penalty is expressly provided by this Act in relation to the contravention.
(2) Subsection (1) does not apply to prevent a contravention of a provision of this Act by a police officer from—
(a) being dealt with under the Complaints (Australian Federal Police) Act 1981 (Cwlth); or
(b) constituting grounds for the institution of civil proceedings.
