Australian Capital Territory Consolidated Acts(1) A person must not use spurs with sharpened or fixed rowels on an animal.
Maximum penalty: 100 penalty units, imprisonment for 1 year or both.
(2) A person must not possess—
(a) a spur or similar device with sharpened or fixed rowels; or
(b) a cockfighting spur cap.
Maximum penalty: 5 penalty units.
(3) An offence against subsection (2) is a strict liability offence.
(4) Subsection (2) does not apply to the possession of a spur, device or cockfighting spur cap kept only—
(a) for the purpose of display; or
(b) as a curio or part of a collection.
