ASSOCIATIONS INCORPORATION ACT 1991 - SECT 116
Copies or extracts of books as evidence(1) In any legal proceedings (whether under this Act or otherwise), a copy of, or extract from, a book relating to the affairs of an incorporated association is admissible in evidence as if it were the book or the relevant part of it on proof that the copy or extract is a true copy of the book or the relevant part of it.
(2) For subsection (1), evidence that a copy of or an extract from a book is a true copy of the book or a part of the book—
(a) may be given by a person who has compared the copy or extract with the book or relevant party of the book; and
(b) may be given—
(i) orally; or
(ii) in writing; or
(iii) by an affidavit sworn before a person authorised to take affidavits.
Note It is an offence to make a false or misleading statement, give false or misleading information or produce a false or misleading document (see Criminal Code
, pt 3.4).
