Australian Capital Territory Consolidated Acts Australian Capital Territory Consolidated Acts(1) A person whose consent to the adoption of a child is required is entitled to have access to the child before the end of the period during which that consent may be revoked unless the chief executive, by notice in writing served on that person, informs that person that access is denied.
(2) The chief executive must not give a notice under subsection (1) unless satisfied that it is necessary for protecting the welfare and interests of the child to do so.
